Vinyl records are used as a new type of canvas and the process involved questions the notions of perception and recycling. The use of banal elements from popular culture, the irony and the bright colours are also an allusion to Pop Art.
The records containing collage and words are a humorous response to the famous 'love-hate' relationship between French and British people and therefore French words familiar to English speakers are deliberately chosen. Words and pictures are somewhat forced together causing twisting in their meaning and provoking disorientation and amusement in the viewer.
